Born the only female in an all male race, Jessica McClain isn’t just different—she’s feared.

After living under the radar for the last twenty-six years, Jessica is thrust unexpectedly into her first change, a full ten years late. She wakes up and finds she’s in the middle of a storm. Now that she’s become the only female full-blooded werewolf in town, the supernatural world is already clamoring to take a bite out of her and her new Pack must rise up and protect her.

But not everyone is on board. The werewolf Rights of Laws is missing text and the superstitious werewolves think that Jessica means an end to their race. It doesn’t help when Jessica begins to realize she’s more. She can change partway and hold her form, and speak directly to her wolf. But the biggest complication by far is that her alpha father can't control her like he can the rest of his wolves.

When a mercenary who’s been hired by the vampires shows up to extract information about the newly turned werewolf only days after her change, they find themselves smack in the middle of a war and there's no choice but to run together. When it’s up to Jessica to negotiate her release against her father’s direct orders, she chooses to take an offer for help instead. In exchange, Jessica must now swear an oath she may end up repaying with her life.

More, please. More immediately! (Can you tell I liked this one?) I don't know what it is about werewolves that just does it for me but I do love a good werewolf book and FULL BLOODED delivers. Completely.

With a stellar mix of action, humor and downright sexiness, FULL BLOODED grabbed my interest immediately and didn't let go until I finished that final, bad-assed line in the book. Only then could I take a breath. Or sleep. Because, damnit, I stayed up way past my bedtime finishing this one.

Jessica's a great character. She's quick-witted with just enough snark to be funny and she's unwilling to take crap from anyone--a necessity when growing up surrounded by male werewolves who just wanted to "protect" her. When the protection becomes smothering and it seems obvious she wasn't going to wolf-out, Jessica moves out and tries to make a quiet life for herself as a PI.

So it's pretty unexpected--and traumatizing--when Jessica does wolf out, causing an uproar in the werewolf community. Her father, the Alpha, is forced to take steps to protect her and Jessica is forced into a position she never wanted.

Then there's Rourke. Yummers. We don't know what kind of shifter he is (it's not werewolf...there's something very cat-like to him...hum) but Jessica's wolf certainly likes him. He makes her all...tingly. But there's no time to jump anyone's bones (well, there is... aaand enough with the elipses.), not when wolves and vamps and everyone is after Jessica. Amazingly hot and totally smexy chemistry between Jessica and Rourke.

And it's not just Jessica and Rourke who are awesome. The secondary characters are just as fabulous. There's protective twin brother, Tyler; loyal James; and super-smokin' head of security, Danny. Oh, and Jessica's dad, who's fabulous, too. So protective and adoring of his daughter, even when she drives him up the wall and scares the life out of him.

HOT BLOODED is out in April. Too long! I need me some Rourke and Jessica and the rest of the pack now!

  5. I don't think I have heads much about this. Werewolves aren't my favorite but I like them from time to time. Also I love a bit of humor in my UF so that's a bonus as well.

  6. I enjoyed this one but...(see, I can use ellipses too)...I'm not a fan of either halves of the ultimate couple sleeping with others during the timeline of the novels. I know! I suck! I have issues! It still bothers me.
